First, I tried to get VISA from their Singapore much trouble by getting consular.They kept me waiting for about 30 minutes and then they called me just to say that I must getting visa only in Jakarta.
After I came to Jakarta, they said that they need a lot of supporting letters and visa can only takes at least 3 working days to process.
I could not wait for that long because I have to travel again and I could not allow them to keep my passport for that long. So again I finally come back to Merlion City and try my luck to get visa there. Having Subbu-my friend- our Singapore Ghanapathy getting visa also for the same trip, I then stack up my reference letter right below him.
I'm very lucky then, after sometimes they still remember my face and trying to retain my passport and keep me aside. I just told the officer that: I work in Jakarta for Singapore office, and I'm having a lot of traveling this months finally I got my visa; just one single entry. "Who cares" I said in mind...
I went to Colombo on 30th May 2008. Full of surprise!! I had something in mind that Colombo is just like other South Asia countries....dirty, crowded very uncertainty.
But this is different...This is something else and very beautiful. Colombo is just like 'Westernize' South Asia country.
Too bad that they still having issue with Tamil Tiger in northern part of the Island. So that's makes a lot of road barrier and checking with military and police guard.
